Their story
Robin joined the Rod Stewart's group in February 1981 with at his sides Jim Cregan (guitar), Wally Stocker (guitar), Jay Davis (bass), Tony Brock (drums) and Jimmy Zavala (Saxophone). He succeeds Billy Peek.
As of May, he joined the tour to the Middle-East, while crossing Japan.
The tour finished, Robin will take part then in the recording, the studio “The Record Plant” of Los Angeles, with the album “Tonight I' m Yours” which releases in October 1981.
The single “Tonight I' m Yours” will be classified in the Top 1O english during 3 years and the track “Young Turks” becomes a genuine tube rising in Top 5 american and the Top 10 english.
Let us announce the presence of the track “Never Give Up One A Dream” dedicated to Terry Fox, who will run 3339 miles for the Marathon of the Heart with a prosthesis of the leg ; It dies in 1981, year of release of the album.
This year will also mark a new tour for Robin, entitled “Le grand Tour of America and Canada”.
From November 11, 1981 in Greensboro (U.S.A.) at February 15, 1982 in Montreal (Canada), Robin will occur 42 times in 24 different cities.

The 2nd album on which Robin takes part, “Absolutely Live”, releases since 1982 and gathers the largest tubes of Rod Stewart 20 last year old such as “Hot legs”, “Maggie May”, “Stay with me” (with the participation of Kim Carnes and Tina Turner).
In 1983, Robin finds the studio “The Record Plant” of Los Angeles for the recording of “Body Wishes”; He co-writing with Rod Stewart, Jim Cregan and Kevin Savigar, 3 tracks of this album: “Dancin' Alone”, “Body Wishes” and “Sweet Surrender”.
The album releases on June 10, 1983 ; The single “Baby Jane” extracted the album will become n°1 in England and Germany. “Sweet Surrender”, co-writing by Robin will also make his input in Top 50 in the 23rd place.
In parallel, the group starts a new tour through all Europe, in Israel and South Africa.
The blow of sending of “World Tour 83” is given on May 25, 1983 to Luxembourg. The group will occur 39 evenings, in 27 different cities and they will cross 15 different countries. The tour is finished on August 07, 1983 at Sun City in South Africa.
June 18, 1984 marks the release of “Camouflage” recorded to the Lion Share Studios of Los Angeles with the participation of Jeff Beck on 3 of the tracks of which the single “Infatuation “ (6th in the United States).
The album will be classified 8th in England (certified Argent on June 27) and 18th in the United States (certified gold on August 12).
A new tour is organized.
From July 3, 1984 in Reno (U.S.A.) at March 03, 1985 at Sun City (South Africa), the “Tour 84 - 85”, they is 68 concerts given to the United States, 9 in Canada, 8 in Japan, 8 in South Africa and 2 in Brazil for the Festival of Rio (The two shows, in front of 200,000 people each night).
December 07, 1985, a one-off concert is given to Tampa in the United States.
Better known in the United States under the name of “Rod Stewart”, the album “Every beat of my heart” mark a new session of recording for Robin. Release on June 25, 1986, the album is recorded in pitch less than 5 different studios : “One on One Studios”, “Can Am Recorder”, “The Village Recorder”, “The Record Plant” and “Artisan sound recorders”.
The two singles “Love Touch” and “Every beat of my heart” extracts from this album will be classified both in the Top english and american.
The release of the album will be accompanied by a new tour : The “European Tour 86”
From June 26 in Belfort, Northern Ireland at November 06, 1986 in Brighton, England, the group will occur 68 evenings in 48 different cities distributed in 14 different European countries.
In 1991, Robin finds the sessions of recording in the studios of London for the recording of the new album of Rod Stewart “Vagabond Heart” - This album will be dedicated to the father of Rod, Robert Joseph Stewart, died in 1990.
February 22, 1993, releases “Lead Vocalist”. This compilation is announced as being a celebration with the great career of Rod Stewart. February 06, 2004, Robin joined Rod Stewart and the group for the “US/Canadian Tour”.
Jeff Golub will succeed to him as from July for the second party of this tour.
During that tour, Rod's daughter, Ruby, sang with the band on almost show and now, Ruby and Robin are writing together for her own project.
